Preface to the First Edition
This book is a sincere attempt to place before the aspirants of various competitive examina-tions and university students, a comprehensive volume which will enable them to acquire a complete and detailed understanding of the various aspects of the subject.
This book has four segments, that is, chapter-wise study material, chapter-wise question bank, appendices and model test-papers.
An effort has been made to make the contents of the chapter-wise study material relevant, to the point, up-to-date, and authentic. I have also used tables and diagrams to make the pre-sentation more clear.
The chapter-wise question bank is designed to help the candidates test their understanding of the chapter from the examination point of view. The questions are framed in accordance with the latest trends in various competitive and university examinations.
The Appendices, provided after the last chapter, serve as a reference section.
The Model Tests Papers will help the candidates in making an assessment of their prepara-tion for the examination as well as in managing time judiciously and productively.
