I am delighted to present you the 8th edition of my book Geography: A Comprehensive Study. This book is designed to meet the requirements of aspirants appearing in the Civil Services Examination. It covers the entire CSE Syllabus of Geography in a simple, lucid and cogent manner. While keeping the dynamic nature of this exam in mind, this edition has come up with the latest updates of data, facts, concepts and current affairs as such. For the purpose of simplification, the entire book is divided into seven parts as: General Geography, Physical Geography, Economic Geography, Human Geography, World: Regional Geography, Indian Geography and the last part is a compilation of important facts, points, tables and appendices under the heading Miscellaneous.

There has been many changes in the world (data) as well as Indian scenario which has been incorporated in the 13th edition. The special mention must be made to the incorporation of Janna and Kashmir. On 5 August 2019, the Government of India revoked the special status, or limited Jawanomy, granted under Article 370 of the Indian Constitution to Jammu and Kashmir a region administered by India as a state which consists of the larger part of Kashmir, which has been the subject of dispute among India, Pakistan, and China since 1947
